    Senior Mechanical Engineer

    Location: Manhattan, NY
    Salary: Up to $180,000- (Flexible based on experience)

    About the Role

    A well-established engineering firm is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer at the Director or VP level to lead complex infrastructure and MEP projects in the NYC metropolitan area. This is a high-impact leadership role for an experienced engineer with a strong technical background.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead and manage multiple large, complex projects, ensuring budgets and deadlines are met.
    • Serve as the Engineer of Record for infrastructure improvement and renovation projects.
    • Design and oversee upgrades for boiler plants, chiller plants, air handling units, electrical systems (decarbonization initiatives), BMS controls, and piping distribution systems.
    • Prepare basis of designs, construction documents, and technical reports.
    • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects align with goals and specifications.
    • Provide construction administration support, including RFIs, shop drawing reviews, and field issue resolutions.
    • Oversee sequence of operations and controls design, or work closely with contractors to ensure proper integration.
    • Mentor and oversee junior engineers and direct reports (1-3 team members).
    • Assist in proposal and contract preparation, including project scope, budgets, and client presentations.
    • Ensure compliance with NYC and NYS building codes and municipal agency regulations.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • BS in Mechanical Engineering
    • NYS PE License
    • 12+ years of experience in designing and managing MEP and infrastructure projects.
    • Proven ability to manage project budgets oversee revenue and profit performance.
    • Experience managing simultaneous construction projects of varying sizes and types.
    • Strong knowledge of infrastructure design.
    • Experience with AutoCAD required; Revit knowledge is a plus.

    Work Environment & Schedule

    • In-office requirement: First 6 months fully on-site (5 days/week), then hybrid (4 days in-office, 1 remote).
    • No travel required.
    • Candidates must be based within commuting distance of Manhattan
