The Senior Municipal Engineer will handle the design and plan development for various municipal infrastructure projects, such as stormwater management, sanitary sewer systems, water distribution networks, local roads, site development, recreational facilities, and other related civil engineering work.
Responsibilities:
Perform engineering calculations to support civil engineering design projects. • Manage projects, including client communication, public engagement, and internal team coordination. • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D for design and drafting in civil engineering projects. • Conduct, train, and guide site investigations, surveying, CAD work, and data collection efforts. • Prepare, review, and provide training and guidance on engineering designs, reports, calculations, and plan preparation. • Oversee and train on quality assurance processes, ensuring projects are executed as designed and recommending modifications as needed. • Identify client needs for engineering and surveying services, draft proposals, and prepare fee estimates. • Coordinate with government agencies, client representatives, and other professionals to obtain design information and secure necessary approvals. • Write and edit construction specifications and engineering reports. • Tabulate bid items and calculate construction bid quantities based on plans and specifications. • Estimate construction costs accurately. • Perform periodic site visits to monitor construction quality and progress. • Demonstrate knowledge of public and private financing and funding sources.
Qualifications:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university degree program is required
Experience in construction or civil engineering field
Active PE License or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment
Ability to plan, schedule work and complete work assignments within established budgets and timelines
Broad computer knowledge in particular Microsoft Office products
Aptitude and demonstrated hands-on experience with computer applications such as AutoCAD Civil 3D
Broad knowledge base of civil engineering projects rather than a subject matter expert in any one civil engineering area
Compensation:
Base salary up to 120k/year
