Senior Operations Specialist (Distribution)
Job Description

As a Senior Operations Specialist, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the efficiency and performance of our distribution operations. This is a hybrid role that requires 3-4 days a week at our beautiful downtown Winston-Salem office.
What you'll be doing
As a Senior Operations Specialist, you’ll lead a team and oversee critical areas of our distribution operations. This role combines strategic thinking, hands-on leadership, and collaborative problem-solving. Key responsibilities include:
Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of 4-6 professionals in areas such as 3PL performance oversight, import container coordination, volume forecasting, billing analysis, and supplier claims.
Process Improvement: Design and implement efficient workflows that ensure on-time delivery, accuracy, and inventory excellence.
Data-Driven Insights: Analyze data to identify trends, improve performance, and develop actionable strategies.
3PL Partnership: Build and maintain strong relationships with 3PL providers to drive performance, compliance, and cost optimization.
Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with supply chain, finance, and operations teams to enhance inventory initiatives, volume forecasts, and reporting tools.
Problem Solving: Proactively address challenges in warehouse operations, import logistics, and claims management to ensure smooth processes and happy stakeholders.
Performance Monitoring: Track and report on KPIs, SLAs, and cost metrics, providing feedback and actionable insights for continuous improvement.
What you'll need We’re looking for a self-starter with a passion for logistics and a knack for leadership:
Educational Background: An AAS degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
Experience:
3-5 years in operations, logistics, or supply chain management
At least 2 years of team leadership experience with a proven ability to inspire and motivate.
Skillset:
Strong understanding of warehouse operations, 3PL management, and or transportation.
Analytical mindset with the ability to transform data into actionable insights.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust across teams
Tools & Tech: Familiarity with logistics systems (TMS, WMS, ERP) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
