Senior Payroll Specialist – Your Job Duties

You will support the payroll processing and pension calculation for the organization, along with several affiliate organizations, working alongside the accounting team.

• Calculate, review and process bi-weekly payroll through Paylocity system for 2 separate pay runs, including both exempt and non-exempt employees
• Review elctronic timecards for non-exempt employees through Paylocity, investigating any unusual items
• Input payroll changes (ie: pay increase, withholding changes)
• Process payroll deductions for taxes, benefits
• Perform the monthly pension benefit calculation (currently using MS Excel) and import / key into the Paylocity pay run
• Assist with the budget process related to the payroll expenditures
• Provide assistance to employees regarding payroll and benefits questions
  

Senior Payroll Specialist – Who You Are (Required Skills, Experience & Culture Alignment):

You are:

• Motivated by bringing process improvements and new ideas – we want your ideas to streamline our payroll processes and procedures
• Experienced with processing payroll using a third-party payroll platform
• A detail master – you can identify inconsistencies and unusual items in payroll, timesheets, and invoices and follow documented processes
• An expert with MS Excel and experienced with exporting and manipulating data in Excel including complex formulas, multi-tab spreadsheets, pivot tables, v-lookups
• Able to work in Downtown Sacramento in office (start and stop time is flexible, hybrid option available)
  

Senior Payroll Specialist – You Might Have:

• Experience working with Paylocity payroll
• Experience calculating pension calculations
• Knowledge of human resources / exposure to benefits administration

For You

Your compensation will be $90,000 to $130,000 annual salary (plus a pension!).
