    The Role We Want You For

    The Senior Process Engineer will assist and support the process engineering design for all types of projects with a focus on delivery of Life Science (pharmaceutical, biological, and research laboratory), Advanced Technology (semiconductor and controlled-environment manufacturing systems), or Industrial markets for our nationwide clients. The assignments contain specific tasks on project teams, and these individuals are expected to use their education, intelligence, and common sense to resolve the engineering problems and tasks they are assigned. This person will be responsible for the execution of complex projects and deliver outstanding work product to customers through development of process design documents and deliverables for all project phases (conceptual through final design). You will work as part of a team to provide the best solutions on design-build projects.

    The Specifics of the Role

    • Recognized industry experience with proficiency in, but not limited to, the design and troubleshooting of clean utility systems from initial concept through detail design, installation, and commissioning. Experience in advanced technology, industrial and utility areas is a plus.
    • Act as a technical SME point of contact for all process design related queries from A/E firm and client.
    • Hygienic piping design experience with detailed understanding of ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code – Section VIII, ASME B31.3 - Process Piping Code, ASME-BPE standards, and ASTM pipe/tubing standards A269/270
    • Knowledgeable with ISPE Baseline, Good Practice Guides, and industry standards for Water & Steam Systems, Process Gases, and Commissioning & Qualification related to these systems
    • Experience with Clean-in-Place and Steam-in-Place system design and integration into multi circuit systems, startup and troubleshooting
    • Experience with unit operations to generate, store, and distribute WFI, CS, filtered compressed gases for new and operating biopharmaceutical applications
    • Familiarity with key suppliers for hygienic utilities components, including diaphragm valves, Ported/POU Valves, Sterile Ball Valves, Sanitary fittings, process instrument specifications, and typical process piping component selection.
    • Experience performing calculations and reporting mass balances, capacity analysis, piping designs and integration with typical biopharmaceutical unit operations.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
    • Professional Engineering license with experience designing and sealing process designs according to applicable regional codes.
    • Experience in a variety of pharmaceutical projects, including API, OSD, and Aseptic Fill/finishing.
    • 10+ years of engineering design experience in GMP, FDA or other regulated industrial manufacturing environments.
    • Broad experience in the design, construction, and/or operation of hygienic/sanitary processing plants with specific knowledge of owner requirements, industry trends and governmental regulations.
    • Competitive nature/drive, looking to tackle extremely difficult challenges and find a way to succeed through any circumstance.
    • Communicates well both verbally and in writing.
    • Great attention to detail and accuracy with a drive to ensure a complete understanding of scope.
    • Understanding of customer decision drivers in project selection
