Our client, a leading manufacturer of residential and commercial water heaters and boilers, is seeking Senior Project Engineers to join their onsite team in Johnson City, TN. This is an exciting opportunity to lead critical engineering projects and contribute to innovative product development in a growing industry.
The Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for managing all aspects of assigned projects, leveraging a structured project management system to drive successful outcomes. As a Senior Project Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, organize, and execute engineering projects from concept to completion.
Responsibilities:
Lead the design, implementation, and monitoring of moderate-to-complex engineering projects involving mechanical and manufacturing aspects.
Oversee product development for tankless water heaters, gas appliances, or heat pumps, depending on team assignment.
Maintain detailed project documentation and ensure specifications are kept up to date.
Contribute to business and facility strategies aimed at product line growth and sustainability.
Participate in Project Identification meetings with marketing and management to define project scope and specifications.
Apply Project Management System methodologies to meet project objectives on time and within budget.
Coordinate with internal departments to ensure alignment on project goals, deadlines, and resources.
Review product designs for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and regulatory requirements.
Troubleshoot technical issues, scheduling conflicts, and design challenges as they arise.
Propose and evaluate design modifications and engineering improvements.
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians as needed.
Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and efficiency.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
3+ years of experience in Gas - Tankless Water Heater design.
5+ years of experience in combustion systems for gas appliances.
3+ years of experience in heat pump engineering.
Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read, interpret, and apply scientific and technical reports.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering software tools.
Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data for decision-making.
