Senior Property Accountant - Temp-to-Hire - Tier 1, publicly traded commercial real estate company

A top tier, publicly traded company in Irvine is looking for a few Property Accountants to join their team on a temp-to-hire basis. Reporting directly to the Director of Operational Accounting, these Property Accountant roles will focus on building out monthly financial statements, assist with forecasting and budgeting and help with the preparation of reporting schedules. These are excellent roles for top performing Property Accountants with 3 - 5 years of real estate accounting experience or a public accountant looking to work with one of the largest publicly traded companies in Orange County.

Responsibilities

• Record monthly journal entries
• Review monthly financial statements including property-level balance sheets and income statements for completeness and accuracy
• Analysis of property level performance including variances to budget and forecast
• Interpret complex lease language and review lease setup
• Record monthly forecasts and annual budgets 
• Reconcile capital and tenant improvement projects
• Assist with internal and external audit requests
• Assist with setting up accounting procedures for newly acquired properties

Requirements

• Bachelors in Accounting, Finance or related field
• 4+ years of commercial real estate or property accounting a plus
• Real estate accounting/leasing experience a plus
• Highly proficient with Excel
• Yardi experience a plus
• MRI experience a plus
• Excellent communication skills and thrives in a collaborative environment
