Senior Property Accountant - Commercial Real Estate

A top tier commercial real estate company is seeking a Senior Property Accountant to join their growing accounting team. Reporting directly to the Director of Property Accounting, the Senior Property Accountant role will focus on building out monthly financial statements, assist with forecasting and budgeting and help with the preparation of reporting schedules. This is an excellent role for a Staff or Senior Property Accountant with an extensive commercial real estate accounting background. Role will be 100% in-office in their beautiful Newport Beach office, so please be local to the Orange County area.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of portfolio of properties’ general ledgers and reporting.
• Work closely with various departments such as Asset Management, Property Management, Fund Accounting, Compliance, Corporate, etc.
• Daily cash management, including accounts payable/receivable functions, vendor payments, expense reimbursements, monthly bank reconciliations and bank wire transfers.
• Manage and review property reconciliations and related reports for monthly, quarterly, and annual closing packages.
• Assist with monthly loan draws (which may include collecting relevant invoices, lien waivers, reviewing/updating draw schedules, and following up with funding).
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and cash flow projections and assist with variance analysis
• Coordinate and review CAM reconciliations annually for active properties and prior to sales.

Requirements

• Bachelors in Accounting, Finance or related field
• 2+ years of experience in Property Accounting, preferably in a commercial real estate setting
• Advanced Excel skills and experience utilizing Yardi a plus
• Excellent communication skills and thrives in a collaborative environment
