    We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Real Estate Accountant to join our client's dynamic finance team in the Wilmington, North Carolina area. The ideal candidate will have an adequate understanding of general accounting and financial reporting, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations within the real estate sector.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, reports, and analyses for real estate projects and portfolios.
    • Manage the general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
    • Oversee accounts payable and receivable for real estate transactions, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
    • Monitor cash flow and prepare forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
    • Collaborate with property managers and other departments to ensure financial accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations.
    • Analyze financial performance metrics and provide insights to senior management to drive business decisions.
    • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial plans for real estate projects.
    • Coordinate with external auditors during the annual audit process and ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
    • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in real estate accounting.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
    • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, with a focus on real estate or property management.
    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and real estate financial reporting.
    • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
