Department: Fires Center of Excellence (FCOE), Mission Simulation Center (MSC)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provides exercise design and development of scenarios utilizing model and simulation support for training, as well as exercise analysis and terrain development. These duties will include:
Configure, operate, maintain, instruct, and train modeling and simulation systems during exercise. Create new information and knowledge products as required.
Plan and implement scheduled simulation training events.
Prepare written simulation training event plans and procedures.
Determine simulation support requirements based on training event requirements.
Develop multi‐year projections for hardware and software requirements based on historical/projected training plans.
Create constructive training environments in WARSIM, or other constructive training systems, to support the training audience's area of operation (AO) orientation.
Develop terrain databases/maps, and parametric data, for constructive and virtual simulations and corresponding C2 systems.
Create simulation models to allow training audience to exercise specified training and readiness (T&R) tasks.
Identify and design training unit network requirements, network logical diagrams from requirements, and validate and update network diagrams.
Technical backup and restore processes for all network elements and Quality of Service (QOS) configuration files and Internet operating systems.
Education Civilian Education
Associates or higher required.
Experience
Required three years’ experience on currently fielded simulations in the JLCCTC-ERF/JLCCTC Ver. 8.1.
Required three years’ experience providing technical training and guidance in the use of the listed Mission Command or Simulation Systems in a tactical environment (AFATDS, FBCB2, CPCE, JADOCS, and/or DDS).
One year train-the-trainer and operators experience with WARSIM model is required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to provide technical support and mentoring for complex network systems.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in network operations, including configuration, backup, troubleshooting, and system maintenance.
Knowledge of cybersecurity standards and practices, including the ability to handle privileged user qualifications and maintain security certifications.
Ability to perform in-depth analysis of network issues and provide recommendations for architecture modifications and advanced technical processes.
Proficiency in preparing and delivering procedures, processes, and instructional support.
Ability to demonstrate advanced capabilities and monitor equipment user performance.
Skills in diagnosing and resolving complex network and LAN connectivity issues, and handling system upgrade or release installations.
Ability to write, edit, and manage communication and training materials.
Advanced proficiency with groupware applications (SharePoint, MS Teams) and the Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) desired.
Additional Information
The position is contingent upon contract award.
Required to sit for extended periods and maintain focus.
Daily travel in the local area during the workday (including using a personal vehicle).
Ability to obtain or have a security clearance.
Requires some travel.
