    All work is performed on site, 5 days per week, in Virginia. No remote delivery authorized.

    We are currently seeking a Software Engineer, Senior to support the sea-launched cruise missile, nuclear, or SLCM-N program in the A50 Division at Dahlgren. Software Engineers who have worked on large Navy weapons systems and must be capable coders and are both analytical and process oriented. Must be familiar with Scrum.

    Duties:

    • Serve on a scrum team as a software developer
    • Evaluate existing software code, determine relevance, and remove unnecessary portions of it
    • Write code in multiple languages (e.g., C++, Java)
    • Have experience conducting code reviews, utilizing applications to check code in and out
    • Participate in sprint ceremonies (e.g., daily scrum, sprint reviews, retrospectives)
    • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

    Required Education:

    • A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline, or fifteen (15) years of demonstrated and established knowledge base and subject matter expertise.

    Required Experience:

    • Senior - Ten (10) years of professional experience providing software engineering for analysis, design, development, test, and maintenance of software and database models.
    • Specialized Software Engineering experience – Six (6) years of concurrent progressive experience with a demonstrated technical background in developing programs in higher level computer languages, such as C++, Java, hosted on both Unix/Linux and Microsoft systems; and using structured programming methods, Program Design Languages (PDLs), Agile Software development process, Modular Software design, ANSI C++ and Java applications in a networked LINUX environment, personal computers in Windows environment; and developing software in a multi- threaded/multi-process environment.

    Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

    Compensation at Precise Systems is determined by various factors, including education, experience, skills, competencies, and contract-specific requirements. The salary range for this position is $101,648.64 to $152,472.96 (annualized USD). This range represents the standard pay for this role and is just one component of Precise Systems’ total compensation package.
