Flexion Inc. a Madison, WI based IT Consulting and Services firm is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to work on a long-term consulting project. The client for this position is based in Madison, WI.

Duties for this position will include:

• Maintain and Support IBM AS400 (I Series) Financial/Insurance System.

• Maintain and Support various daily, monthly and yearly tasks involving troubleshooting financial transactions, updating tables to enable/disable financial/insurance products

• Maintain & troubleshoot Datafeeds, Payments and Print jobs with external systems.

• Utilize various technologies such as Subversion Tortoise/SVN, FTP, RoboFTP, WinSCP command batch files, job scheduler, Redgate tools, Altova tools, and Microsoft Office for various development and operational tasks

• Handle financial transactions and reporting by creating EFT/ACH files and managing 1099 reporting

• Maintain data transfer processes using IBM MQ

• SDLC on Mainframe (Dev, QA, Production)

Additional Preferred Duties:

• Maintain the Agents Area Website using C#, ASP.NET, HTML, CSS, XML, JavaScript, and SQL Server

• Manage web server configurations and deployments using IIS

• Utilize Visual Studio (2005 – 2017) and SQL Server Management Studio for development tasks

• Manage SQL Server databases, including creating stored procedures, updating tables, and developing DTSX packages

Skills And Qualifications:

Experience with IBM AS400 Development/Maintenance for Financial Systems (preferably Insurance products)

• SQL, Query, implementer, COBOL, Control language

• Proficient in using Visual Studio and SQL Server Management Studio

• C#, ASP.NET, HTML, CSS, XML, JavaScript, and SQL Server

• Understanding of web server management and configurations, particularly with IIS

• Familiarity with financial data processing and reporting

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
