Senior Staff Accountant needed for NJ manufacturing company
Salary up to $150k including medical/dental benefits package
The candidate will be a key member of the accounting team and heavily involved with financial reporting, accounting and budgeting. They may be responsible for assisting with monthly and year-end financial reports (in conjunction with our CPA), budgeting, certified payroll and maintenance of accounting records.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Day-to-day tasks of the Accounting Department including but not limited to Billing (AIA & Quickbooks), A/R, A/P, General Ledger Maintenance, and Cost Accounting.
• Performs all activities necessary to assist with issuing timely and accurate financial statements.
• Help manage, and personally assist in
certified payroll and union dues.
• Maintains postings and transactions in the general ledger including journal entries, correcting transactions, preparing and reconciling the final monthly job cost and WIP.
• Handle collections of past due invoices and accounts, including sending monthly customer statements.
• Complete bank reconciliations
and deposits.
• Help prepare and monitor regularly evaluate company wide, project specific, and department specific budgets and report on performance against budgets.
• Coordinates the record keeping of all job costs, transactions, and accruals including general and administrative expenses.
• Work with CFO & external accounting firm for review of financial statements and annual audit.
• Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes, and data, and enhance the Company’s value.
• Motivate and work with other members of the accounting staff, with willingness to jump in and help wherever needed.
• Assist CFO with establishing more efficient and robust WIP reporting and collections process.
