    Summary: Sun Holdings, one of the top franchise organizations in the U.S. and one of the largest minority-owned businesses in the DFW area, is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to manage the general accounting and financial processes of our company. You’ll be responsible for all daily accounting tasks, including preparing tax documents and updating expense files. You will perform financial transactions and post them in the general ledger, with strong attention to detail. Ultimately, you will ensure the company’s finances run smoothly as well as coach/mentor members of the accounting team.

    Responsibilities:

    Ensure the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions

    Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information

    Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.

    Maintain general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries

    Summarizes financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other documents

    Complete external audit by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts and providing information for auditors

    Secure financial information by completing database backups

    Protect organization’s value by keeping information confidential

    Coach/mentor junior level accountants

    Requirements:

    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a similar major is required

    Master’s degree in Accounting or MBA is preferred

    Certified Public Accountants (CPA) strongly preferred

    Must have at least 5 years’ experience in Accounting or Finance

    Knows the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

    Demonstrates strong technical accounting skills

    Strong leadership skills
