    Who is EMC?

    EMC Structural Engineers, P.C., is a consulting engineering firm located in Nashville, TN. EMC provides services in structural design and analysis, value engineering, and investigations/forensics to the architectural and construction industry.

    We have ten licensed engineers with over 260 years of combined experience in structural engineering. We have experience in a wide range of building types including new construction, additions, and structural rehabilitations of historic and other existing buildings. Currently, we have engineers registered in all fifty states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico.

    What We Do

    EMC utilizes the latest structural and modeling software to develop efficient structural systems. We work very closely with architects, contractors, and owners.

    Position Responsibilities

    ● Perform structural engineering design and prepares design and construction documents. ● Solve problems in connection with structural engineering. ● Present and review ideas from all staff to assist in the production of drawings and engineering design and analysis. ● Incorporate structural engineering design concepts with other disciplines. ● Review structural engineering design documents for compliance with approved code requirements. ● Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and others during various stages of project development. ● Review shop drawing and product submittals.

    Leadership Responsibilities

    ● Assist principals and senior structural engineers in achieving project budget, deliverables, and schedule.

    Minimum Qualifications

    ● Bachelor’s Degree in Structural Engineering (Master’s Degree is preferred but not required). ● Recent graduates are encouraged to apply. ● Ability to obtain professional licensure, or licensure process near completion. ●Demonstration of strong work ethic, initiative, problem solving, and ability to make decisions. ● Ability to collaborate with all project members. ● Effective communication skills through written, oral, and visual methods. ● General knowledge of site planning, civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering, and architectural practice. ● Practical knowledge of building codes.
