Position Overview:
Our Client is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join their team in New Rochelle, NY. Reporting to the Chief Engineer, the Senior Structural Engineer will be responsible for a range of tasks requiring extensive knowledge in heavy/highway civil construction and structural engineering. This role involves structural analysis and design, ensuring compliance with codes and client requirements, and preparing detailed engineering reports and construction drawings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform structural analysis and design for various structures including reinforced and pre-stressed concrete, steel, timber, deep foundations, and earth retaining structures.
- Implement design solutions and ensure adherence to all applicable codes, standards, and client specifications.
- Prepare and review calculations, engineering reports, memoranda, and design submittals.
- Develop working and draft construction drawings for AutoCAD drafters.
- Manage additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution; a Master’s degree in structural engineering is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with a focus on bridge projects.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required (New York or New Jersey); New York license is preferred.
- Proficiency in structural finite element analysis software such as MIDAS or RISA.
- Strong working knowledge of Excel, Mathcad, and critical industry codes including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC Steel Specification, and others.
- Active membership in relevant industry organizations (e.g., AISC, AWI, RCSC) and commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven success in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction.
- Experience with projects in the NYC/Metropolitan area is preferred.
Salary Range: $150,000 - $200,000, commensurate with experience.
