    This position is critical to the ministry of Sky Ranch and contributes directly to our mission of leading youth and families to know and follow Christ. The Senior Summer Camp Manager of Phase II is responsible for overseeing the comprehensive planning, execution, and management of Phase II camp programs, i.e. Morph, Quest, Quest Colorado, Sigma Junior, Sigma Senior and Work Crew. This role includes leading operational logistics, managing budgets, and ensuring seamless coordination across various program stages. Additionally, the position involves developing and executing strategic objectives, fostering staff development, and supporting the spiritual growth of summer staff. The Senior Manager also plays a key role in recruiting efforts, building strong relationships with site operations teams, and contributing to the overall success of the camp ministry through collaboration, content creation, and marketing initiatives.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Program Management and Operations

    Lead and manage the operational logistics of Phase II programs, including bus travel, off-site housing, and off-site programming.

    Oversee and ensure the successful execution of all Phase II programming, ensuring consistency and collaboration across different program stages (Morph/Quest to Work Crew).

    Oversee and manage the operations of Colorado Closing Shows in Texas, including the Quest CO Closing Show, Sigma Jr. Closing Show, and Sigma Sr. Brunch.

    Oversee the planning and execution of Sigma Winter Retreat and Sigma Hangouts.

    Oversee and execute all Phase II programs for Opening and Closing Days in Van.

    Manage and coordinate all communication regarding Bus Travel for the CO Leadership Camp program.

    Staff Development and Leadership

    Lead, manage, and develop both full-time camp managers and summer staff across all Phase II programs.

    Provide coaching and support for the Phase II Camper/Parent Conversations throughout the summer and year.

    Work closely with site operations teams to develop and execute effective staff training for both full-time and summer staff.

    Support the spiritual development and growth of summer staff during the summer months.

    Actively contribute to the Dedicated Recruiting Team (DRT) by assisting with recruiting efforts, including interviewing potential summer staff, tabling at college campuses, and participating in hiring meetings.

    Strategic Planning and Collaboration

    Develop and execute the strategic objectives for Summer Camp as a member of the Summer Camp Front Office Team (FO).

    Maintain strong relationships with site operations teams to ensure the successful planning, organization, and execution of Phase II camp programs.

    Partner with Sky Ranch's TRU Camp Ministry to assist with bus contracts.

    Provide organization with current, up-to-date research on camper and family culture, as well as the direction of ministry in target areas.

    Stay informed about cutting-edge and effective practices in current ministry.

    Budgeting and Administration

    Manage budgets for Phase II camp programs.

    Produce content for Phase II camp programs, including Life Map content and internal materials such as summer curriculum.

    Marketing and Communications

    Support Sky Ranch Staff’s social media platforms and graphic design efforts.

    Assist and support weekend camp programs for camper/family ministry as needed.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    EDUCATION

    Bachelor’s Degree

    EXPERIENCE

    Summer camp ministry and/or youth ministry experience.

    At least three years of experience in camp ministry preferred.

    KNOWLEDGE

    Basic understanding of the field of summer camp ministries.

    Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

    Experience researching and implementing new activities and events preferred.

    Training in strategic planning preferred. Proficient working knowledge and ability to use various office software including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.

    Basic internet and social media skills. Knowledge of activity development and camping safety standards preferred. Knowledge of multimedia technology preferred.

    Ability to effectively manage staff in areas such as: selection, development, coaching, motivation, scheduling, and performance evaluation.

    Excellent leadership skills necessary to appropriately influence people to achieve a desired outcome.

    Ability to hire, train and motivate team members.

    Ability to relate positively, influentially, and sensitively to a broad spectrum of persons in a variety of multi-tiered relationships and settings to include but not limited to guests (youth and families), co-workers and peers.

    Proven successful leadership experience, proven ability to build unity amongst a team and motivate them to work together toward a common mission.

    Excellent interpersonal skills, and relationship building skills. Ability to plan, manage, and report budgets proficiently.

    Ability to provide logistical planning and facilitate meetings, and/or retreats as required.

    Ability to investigate and analyze information and draw conclusions.

    Ability to prepare moderately complex reports.

    Ability to exercise independent thinking and initiative.

    Ability to deal with complex situations or issues and make effective, timely and appropriate decisions.

    Excellent organizational skills: ability to multi-task and manage a variety of tasks.

    Ability to maintain confidentiality.

    Ability to communicate the vision of Sky Ranch to both internal and external customers.

    OUTSIDE CONTACTS

    Guests, University Contacts, Ministry Partners, Church Partners, and Vendors.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    Ability to use up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Ability to grasp, push, pull, carry, or otherwise manipulate objects; ability to perform tasks requiring action of muscles or groups of muscles and foot and/or hand-eye coordination. Requires some physical agility, including but not limited to bending for items below or reaching for items above the individual; crawling under desks; stooping, and climbing step stools or ladder.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    Works indoors in normal office environment majority of the time; works outdoors during the summer season. Spends multiple days traveling to universities for the purpose of recruiting and traveling to other site locations to see Phase II programing. Includes willingness to fly and spend long hours traveling by car or bus as needed.
