CNR Technologies is seeking a seasoned Senior Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our IT team, you’ll provide advanced technical support, lead critical projects, and act as a trusted escalation point for complex issues. This role offers the opportunity to work with a variety of technologies in a collaborative environment where your expertise and innovative approach will help drive our company's growth.
Responsibilities:
Resolve advanced client issues involving domains, emails, servers, networking, and hardware.
Oversee and complete IT projects from planning to execution.
Act as a primary escalation point, providing assistance and guidance for technical issues escalated by all engineers across the team.
Collaborate with vendors to troubleshoot and implement solutions as needed.
Communicate clearly and effectively with clients, keeping them informed on issue status, project progress, and resolution timelines.
Build and maintain strong client relationships by delivering exceptional service and support.
Learn and implement new technologies to enhance client systems and infrastructure.
Provide on-site and remote technical support to clients, primarily in Woodstock and surrounding areas, with occasional extended travel.
Assist with ticket queues to maintain workflow efficiency.
Adapt and remain flexible to a fast-paced environment, taking on diverse responsibilities and contributing to the team's success.
Skills and Requirements:
Minimum 6 years of experience with Windows systems and networking, working with diverse technologies and equipment.
Expertise in Windows Server (2016 and newer) including AD, DHCP, DNS, RDS, and AD CS.
Strong understanding of networking concepts, including VLANs, routing tables, and VPNs.
Hands-on experience with firewalls (e.g., pfSense, Fortigate, Sophos, SonicWall).
Proven ability to plan, execute, and document projects or tickets independently within deadlines.
Proficiency in mentoring and supporting junior engineers.
Customer-facing experience with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Flexibility to take on varying responsibilities and pivot as priorities shift in a growing small business.
Relevant certifications such as CompTIA (A+, Network+, Security+), Microsoft, or Cisco are highly preferred.
Willingness to work additional hours, including after-hours support, with potential for additional compensation.
