Technical Product Manager (TPM) – Gaming | NYC (In-Person, 5 Days/Week)
Our client, a gaming technology company, is seeking a Technical Product Manager (TPM) with a strong engineering background and a passion for gaming. This is an exciting opportunity for a former full-stack engineer who thrives in product management, working cross-functionally with engineering, design, and business teams to ship high-impact features and tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own Product Development – Define the roadmap and execution strategy for key features, tools, and platforms that align with business objectives and enhance player experiences
- Bridge Engineering & Product – Collaborate with engineering teams, translating complex technical challenges into clear, actionable product requirements
- Hands-on Technical Collaboration – Leverage your full-stack engineering experience to review architecture decisions, contribute to technical trade-offs, and ensure high-quality execution
- Agile Execution – Lead sprints, manage backlogs, and drive product development in an efficient, iterative manner
- Startup-Style Problem Solving – Navigate ambiguity, identify opportunities, and iterate rapidly in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Cross-Functional Leadership – Work closely with designers, engineers, and stakeholders to bring player-centric product features to life
What We’re Looking For:
- Technical Background – 3+ years as a full-stack engineer (front-end & back-end) with hands-on coding experience
- Product Management Experience – 3+ years as a Technical Product Manager (TPM) or similar role, working closely with engineering teams
- In-Person Collaboration – Must be based in NYC and work 5 days in the office with the product team
- Ownership & Attention to Detail – Strong sense of accountability, ensuring end-to-end quality of complex features
- Results-Driven Mindset – Focused on metrics, performance, and player experience, moving fast and shipping regularly
- Gaming Passion – Deep love for games, gaming culture, and an understanding of what makes a great player experience (prior gaming-related experience is a plus)
- Startup Experience (Preferred) – Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-ambiguity environment and wear multiple hats
Tech Stack:
- Frontend: Electron, React, Redux, Styled Components & other modern web-based technologies
- Native: C# and C++ for Windows applications
- Mobile: Swift for iOS, Kotlin for Android
- Backend: Java, Redis, RabbitMQ, Kubernetes
- Infrastructure: Terraform, Salt, GitHub Actions, CircleCI for IaC and CI/CD
