    Location: Kansas City, MO, No Remote, Visa Sponsorship will be considered

    Annual Salary: $115,000-125,000

    Other Compensation: bonus up to $10,000; prorated the first year.

     

    Job Description

    We are seeking a Senior Trust Officer with in-depth trust knowledge, a thorough understanding of policies and procedures, and the ability to provide top-tier client service. This role requires an individual who can serve as a resource and mentor for team members while ensuring trust accounts are administered with the highest standards of accuracy and integrity. The successful candidate will be the go-to person for both the team and clients.

    • Support the Chief Fiduciary Officer: Act as a backup when needed, assisting in managing the fiduciary department’s daily operation.
    • Trust Administration: Administer a variety of trust accounts, including revocable, irrevocable, Crummey, and special needs trusts.
    • Team Leadership: Mentor, support, and encourage junior team members, fostering a collaborative and knowledgeable team environment.
    • Compliance: Ensure trust accounts comply with legal and regulatory requirements, staying current on national and South Dakota trust regulations.
    • Tax Coordination: Work with an outsourced CPA firm to coordinate and oversee tax preparation.
    • Asset Management: Oversee the successful transfer of assets to and from the trust company.
    • Account Reviews: Coordinate with relationship managers for the annual review of trust accounts.
    • Industry Awareness: Stay informed of industry trends and best practices in trust administration and wealth management.

    Qualifications

    • A minimum of eight years of experience in personal trust and estate planning.
    • Bachelor’s degree. An advanced degree (JD) or certification (CTFA, CFP, AEP, or CPA).
    • Strong knowledge of fiduciary law, trust administration, and estate planning.
    • Understanding of risk and compliance.
    • Proven ability to engage and motivate a team to achieve higher performance.
