They're an engineering and environmental consulting firm that specializes in: Water (watersheds + water resources), Ecology (ecosystems + natural resources) and Community (civil engineering, landscape architecture + planning).
Overview:
This position involves managing projects and leading a team of engineers and scientists on water resources and civil engineering tasks. Responsibilities include overseeing hydrologic analyses for stormwater planning and flood control, conducting water quality assessments in urban and rural areas, performing hydraulic design and analysis for rivers, streams, dams, and conveyance systems, and preparing technical reports, plans, and specifications. The role also serves as a company liaison with clients, regulatory agencies, and public officials, with routine attendance at evening meetings.
Minimum qualifications:
- demonstrates expertise in technical writing and quality control of deliverables
- strong project management skills and experience with supervision of multidiscipline technical teams
- familiarity with federal, state, and local water rules and statutes
- strong data analysis skills
- experience in development and review of water quality and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling
Primary Responsibilities

- Utilize stormwater models to assess and optimize management systems.
- Identify phosphorus reduction opportunities, estimate BMP efficacy, and track TMDL load allocation progress.
- Inform design of BMPs, such as infiltration basins, biofiltration, iron-enhanced filters, and wetlands.
- Evaluate infrastructure resilience to climate change and development impacts.
- Optimize conveyance systems to mitigate flooding.
- Support stormwater modeling (hydrologic/hydraulic and water quality) and conveyance analysis.
- Process GIS, monitoring, and survey data for model inputs.
- Calibrate models with observed data and refine components.
- Assist with water quality sampling and streamflow measurement.
- Aid watershed regulatory programs, review construction plans, and enforce stormwater regulations.
- Support rule revisions and feasibility vetting for improvement projects.
Education/Experience requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in environmental engineering with an emphasis water resources
- 10+ years of water resource engineering experience with a focus on hydrology and/or water quality
- 5+ years of experience with client management and business development
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
Education/Experiences preferred:
- Post graduate degree preferred
- ArcGIS, QGIS, AutoCAD experience and knowledge preferred
