    About the role

    We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Compliance Officer to ensure our substance abuse and mental health treatment facilities adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and standards, including The Joint Commission requirements. The Compliance Officer will develop and implement a comprehensive compliance program, conduct audits and investigations, and provide training and guidance to staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of state regulations for mental health and substance use treatment, as well as knowledge of The Joint Commission Standards related to safety and compliance.

    Key Responsibilities ****

    • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive compliance program, including conducting risk assessments, creating policies and procedures, and ensuring adherence to regulations.
    • Advance a system for tracking all Joint Commission required data and present information to senior leadership.
    • Conduct compliance audits, investigate potential violations, and report findings to management and regulatory agencies as required.
    • Develop and deliver compliance training programs for all staff, and provide guidance and support to ensure understanding of compliance requirements.
    • Monitor changes in laws and regulations, ensure timely renewals of licenses and certifications, and serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies.
    • Ensure all facilities have ongoing LegitScript Addiction Treatment certifications
    • Prepare compliance policies and procedures annually, risk assessment reports quarterly, audit reports quarterly, and investigation reports as needed.
    • Deliver compliance training materials annually and maintain training completion records quarterly.
    • Provide regulatory updates quarterly and ensure timely license and certification renewals.
    • May require up to 10% travel.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field; Master's degree or JD preferred
    • 5-7 years of experience in healthcare compliance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
    • Strong knowledge of healthcare laws and regulations
    • Excellent analytical and investigative skills
    • Strong communication and training abilities
    • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
    • Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) preferred
