  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    Arrival
    o Report to manager at exact beginning of each scheduled shift fully groomed according to 5 Star Plaza Standards with all personal service supplies on hand
    o Punch in and out for all shifts in full uniform ready to begin shift
    o Read communication board/log book.

    Pre-Shift
    o Communicate with out going shift, if applicable.
    o Participate in departmental meetings and shift line-ups.
    o Know your shifts and station assignments.
    o Know the ingredients, preparation, and proper presentation of all menu items and specials and ensure that every product delivered to the guest adheres to the highest quality possible.
    Service
    o Greet each guest in a sincerely warm, friendly manner using the guest name (at least three times).
    o Provide prompt, courteous and efficient food and beverage service.
    o Demonstrate 5 Star Plaza Standards in all interactions.
    o Demonstrate an attitude of friendly hospitality in every aspect of service.
    o Remain observant and responds to each guest at all times.
    o Maintain cleanliness and condition of the work areas and equipment, including front of the house locations.
    o Clear and Reset dining tables.
    o Perform all assigned side work regularly, promptly, and correctly.
    o Effectively handle guest concerns.
    o Consistently restock side stations throughout service periods
    o Maintain functionality and par levels of operating equipment in pantries throughout service.
    o Implement standards/procedures of service for guests consistently as per outlet’s sequence of service.
    o Assist the Servers and Food Runners whenever necessary to ensure superior guest service.
    o Assist in running food to the tables, naming the dishes to the guest and ensuring they are presented to the correct seat number
    o Make appropriate suggestion of food and beverages; employ suggestive
    selling and up selling techniques.

    Post-Shift
    o Ensure your workstation is clean, neat and in order.
    o Bring all dishes back to the stewarding area.
    o Retrieve cleaned restaurant equipment from stewarding area and return to restaurant.

    Leave
    o Communicate with incoming shift, if applicable.
    o Anticipate uniform needs for next scheduled shift.
    o Check with Manager for any outstanding duties.
    o Clock out at the exact end of scheduled shift.

    Hourly Rate: $15.94 - $21.25

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Previous food and beverage experience in a luxury hotel setting is an asset.
    • Must be physically fit in order to lift trays of food or food items up to 50 pounds.
    • Must be physically fit in order to transport trays of food or food items up to 50 pounds through staircase from kitchen to restaurant.
    • Must be able to stand and walk throughout entire shift
    • Must have a very flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
    • Knowledge of food, wine, Fame cocktails, spirits and water
    • Know and implement standards/procedures and sequence of service consistently.
    • Excellent eye for detail and the ability to multi-task.
    • Ability to read food orders and sequence the delivery appropriately
    • Team player and willing to help out other Food and Beverage outlets.
    • Must possess outstanding guest services skills and professional presentation.
    • Must be effective at handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
    • Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
    • Must be effective at listening, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by guests.
