  • Responsibilities

    POSITION SUMMARY: The Server will be responsible for taking food and drink orders from customers, and then delivering those orders to the proper guest, ensuring a positive customer experience. You will be responsible for food and beverage service including greeting guests, making food and beverage suggestions. You should be efficient, reliable, and perceptive with excellent communication and time management skills. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Greets and serves customers in a professional and timely manner.
    • Applies knowledge of the full menu, and other restaurant information such as restaurant hours of operations, catering, and payment types.
    • Prepares room for dining by clothing tables and setting decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, service plates, and utensils.
    • Protects establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.
    • Transmits orders to bar and kitchen by recording customers choices and identifying customers special dietary needs and special requests.
    • Always maintains clean tables wiping tables regularly, disposing of debris and bottles.
    • Must be able to communicate with patrons clearly and respectfully, Bar Vegan's policy of 20% service charge, cashless environment and 90 minute table time.
    • Communicates health and/or safety concerns/violations immediately to management.
    • Schedules dining reservations and arranges parties or special services for patron
      • Maintains table setting by removing courses as completed, replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses, and being alert to patron spills or other special needs.
      • May perform other duties as assigned by management.

    REQUIRED SKILLS/ ABILITIES:

    * Must have a great attitude.
    * Excellent customer service skills.
    * Working knowledge of spirits, wine, and food.
    * Strong attention to detail.
    * Strong problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, ability to handle tense situations with coworkers and customers calmly and rationally.
    * Ability to meet physical and scheduling demands of the position, including, walking, standing, or lifting heavy items for extended periods and working nights, weekends, and holidays.
    * Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.  
    

    EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

    • Must be at least 18 years of age.
    • Minimum of 2 years experience bartending/serving in a restaurant (not a club/lounge)
    • Must be available weekday nights and open availability on weekends
