LOCATION: Midland, TX
CONTEXT: Our client is seeking an experienced Service Manager to oversee the operations of their service shop. This role involves leading a team of technicians, managing equipment and inventory, coordinating repairs and maintenance, and ensuring high-quality customer service.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee daily operations of the service shop.
- Recruit, train, and manage technicians and administrative staff.
- Develop and implement SOPs for efficiency and productivity.
- Ensure safety compliance in all activities.
- Coordinate equipment repairs, preventive maintenance, and inspections.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory and maintenance.
- Collaborate with sales and procurement to forecast equipment needs.
- Address customer requirements and ensure satisfaction.
- Manage costs, budgets, and expenses related to service operations.
- Conduct reports on service performance and inventory.
- Handle team conflicts effectively and provide strong leadership.
- Stay updated on industry trends and regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial management, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience managing a service shop or maintenance facility, ideally in oil and gas.
- Prior experience as a mechanic and in management roles.
- Strong knowledge of oil and gas equipment (pumps, compressors, generators, etc.).
- Proficient in using computer software and systems for inventory management and maintenance tracking.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective conflict resolution and communication skills.
- Understanding of safety regulations and best practices.
- Preferred: Certification in diesel mechanics or similar.
