    Job Description

    Are you a hard-working and efficient individual looking to be a key part of a dynamic team? TCI is seeking a Service Porter to join our Service department. In this essential role, you'll be responsible for the daily upkeep of our shop, including maintenance, cleaning of tools and equipment, and providing crucial support to our technicians. This position offers a hands-on introduction to the operations of a high-volume truck dealership, where your dependable work will help maintain a safe and organized environment.

    *This position will work 7am-3:30pm.

    What You’ll Do:

    • Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the shop and dealership grounds clean and orderly, ensuring a safe work environment free of debris, following company policies.
    • Routine Maintenance: Develop and adhere to a scheduled maintenance checklist for regular tasks.
    • Manage Waste: Sort and dispose of recyclables, scrap metal, and refuse, coordinating with vendors for proper disposal when needed.
    • Floor Care: Sweep, mop, and scrub floors, and clean storage shelves, workbenches, and other surfaces.
    • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain large shop equipment such as flywheel machines, sandblasters, forklifts, shop presses, wheel lifts, and alignment machines.
    • Support 5S Elite: Ensure proper maintenance of 5S Elite Support organizational signage and taping.
    • Assist Technicians: Provide assistance to service technicians and other team members to help them complete their tasks safely and efficiently.
    • Customer Service: Respond promptly and effectively to the needs of both internal and external customers, ensuring their satisfaction in all aspects of your work.
    • Parts Delivery: Deliver parts to service bays as needed to keep technicians focused on critical jobs.

    Qualifications

    What We're Looking For:

    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Driver's License and ability to meet insurance requirements is not required but is highly preferred
    • Fork truck certification and/or heavy equipment operating experience is a plus
    • Proven mechanical aptitude and dexterity with tools and shop equipment
    • Ability to operate cleaning equipment is essential
    • Knowledge of shop safety policies and basic hand tool operation
    • Ability to understand written directions and formulas to mix cleaning solutions and chemicals
    • Resourceful, collaborative team player who also thrives independently and can prioritize multiple projects with strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
    • Must participate in a pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screen.
