Position Summary:
The job of the Service Technician is to fix and complete service issues as scheduled by the Service Manager. Service issues range from parts replacement to full window/door replacement. Causes and solutions of service issues will not always be evident and will require the Service Technician to investigate and determine possible solutions. The Service Technician must be personable and communicate clearly with customers. Service projects will include work on the interior and exterior of homes. The Service Technician will support the Service Manager in managing Window World of Fargo’s service pipeline. This position will require working independently as well as with other Service Technicians and Installers. This role would be prioritized to the Service Department, but will also perform full window and/or door installs for the Production Department.
Job Responsibilities:
Complete Service Projects as scheduled by Service Manager.
Perform inspections to identify issues, investigate causes, and determine potential solutions.
Communicate clearly with customers and ensure satisfaction.
Collect payments from customers.
Keep accurate records and document customer service actions and discussions.
Maintain organization and cleanliness in all aspects of job.
Ability to drive and maneuver company truck and trailer safely
Develop and maintain a proficiency in Window World product knowledge.
Develop and maintain knowledge of manufacturer and company warranties.
Assist in other areas of organization as capable and directed by Service Manager.
Promote and carry out company Core Values.
Assist with any other job duties that are assigned by a supervisor.
Work Hours & Benefits: This is a full-time position. Health, Dental, Vision, and Life insurance are offered after 60 days of employment. A 401k plan is available after one year of employment with an employer match.
Service Technician Qualifications/Skills:
Valid Driver’s License
Proficient math and measuring skills
Verbal and written communication
Ability to lift at least 50lbs and work on your feet for long periods of time
Self-starter and ability to work independently as well as a team member
Time management
Must be able to maintain quality standards as set by company
Ability to learn on the job and take direction as needed
Window World product knowledge
Education and Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Three years’ experience in a carpentry, window or siding installation or similar position.
