Title: ServiceNow Platform Engineer
Location: NYC, Chicago, or Washington, DC (Hybrid: 2 days remote / 3 days on-site)
Salary: $140,000
District Partners is engaged with our client to identify and place a highly skilled ServiceNow Platform Engineer to lead the development, management, and growth of the ServiceNow platform. This role ensures the platform aligns with the organization’s strategic goals across U.S. and international offices.
The Engineer will oversee the design, configuration, and customization of ServiceNow applications and services, acting as a technical lead for third-party vendor teams. The role will also focus on maintaining and improving implemented modules like ITSM, ITFM, HRSD, ITOM, and SPM while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver tailored technical solutions.
This hybrid role requires working three days in the office, based out of one of our client’s locations in New York, Chicago, or Washington, DC.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer, configure, and maintain the ServiceNow platform, emphasizing ITSM and SPM.
- Manage out-of-the-box functionality, enhancements, and platform upgrades.
- Develop and implement bug fixes and resolve production issues for ITSM and SPM.
- Create and modify forms, fields, and workflows per requirements.
- Oversee change control and coordinate release management processes.
- Build dashboards and reports for IT management and leadership teams.
- Manage data imports/exports, ensuring data integrity and security.
- Handle onboarding/offboarding and manage user access/security compliance.
- Utilize scripting modules (e.g., Client Scripts, UI Policies, Business Rules) to customize functionality.
- Serve as the technical lead for platform design and support.
- Ensure applications and services meet performance and reliability SLAs.
- Design and implement enhancements to improve functionality and user experience.
- Update and maintain knowledge base articles for support and documentation.
- Promptly resolve incidents and service requests.
Qualifications:
- Expertise in ITSM and SPM principles.
- Proficiency with ServiceNow scripting (Client Scripts, UI Policies, Business Rules).
- Knowledge of JavaScript, Python, PowerShell, REST, SOAP, XML, and JSON preferred.
- Familiarity with SQL databases and reporting (KPIs, status reports).
- Knowledge of ITIL framework and ticketing systems.
- Hands-on experience with components like Automated Discovery Tool, Service Catalog, and Knowledge Management.
- ITIL v3 Foundations certification (minimum).
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) required; Certified Implementation Specialist preferred.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- At least 4 years of ServiceNow platform experience, with 2+ years in discovery and configuration management (CMDB).
- This position may require up to 25% travel for team meetings or on-site projects.
