The Button Law Firm is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Settlement Coordinator - Paralegal to join our growing team. In this role, you will support attorneys by managing and streamlining the settlement phase of cases, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all related legal and administrative tasks. You will liaise with clients, insurance companies, and other parties to facilitate timely settlements while maintaining meticulous documentation. This position involves handling billing matters, including liens and health insurance negotiations, and ensuring that all necessary approvals, such as minor court approvals, are properly managed. If you have experience as a paralegal or case manager and are looking to transition into litigation, this role provides an excellent opportunity to develop skills similar to those of a litigation paralegal. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and thrives in a fast-paced legal environment. Experience in personal injury or civil litigation is a requirement. This is a full-time, in-office position. Compensation and Benefits: Base Salary: The annual salary for this position ranges from $50,000 to $60,000. Performance-Based Bonuses: Eligibility for performance-based bonus incentives. Responsibilities: • Case Management: Work closely with attorneys and the case team to facilitate the efficient progression of cases, ensuring that settlements are handled accurately and in compliance with legal requirements. • Billing Lien Resolution: Manage and negotiate health insurance liens, medical provider balances, and other financial obligations related to settlements to maximize client recovery. • Documentation and Compliance: Ensure all settlement agreements, court approvals, and related documentation adhere to legal and procedural standards. Maintain thorough records to support compliance and case integrity. • Vendor Third-Party Coordination: Communicate with medical providers, lien holders, and other third parties to expedite the settlement process and ensure timely resolution of outstanding issues. • Administrative Support: Maintain detailed records, track settlement timelines, and monitor key case milestones to ensure deadlines are met efficiently. • Problem-Solving Litigation Support: Identify and proactively resolve any issues that could delay the settlement process. Assist attorneys with litigation-related settlement tasks, providing support similar to a litigation paralegal role. Qualifications: • 1–2 years in legal billing, or settlement-related roles. • Experience in personal injury law or similar legal areas. • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. • Spanish speaker preferred. • Strong written and verbal communication abilities. • Comfortable managing multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously. • Proficient in using legal software, CRM platforms, or willingness to learn. • Team player with a proactive, client-centered approach. • High school diploma or GED is a requirement.
