Production Artist - Packaging sgsco - Brooklyn Park, MN Position Summary This position will be part of the production team and will help to execute packaging artwork. All artwork executions are coordinated to maintain the integrity of the approved designs and themes and intent of the client. The Production Artist must thrive in a professional, fast-paced environment, juggling multiple projects. The Production Artist performs digital page layout, brand extensions to approved design, and updates to existing artwork files using desktop software applications. Work is typically performed under minimal daily supervision, receiving guidance from manager/supervisor about the work that needs to be completed. Able to exercise high level of discretion and latitude in completing tasks. Essential Responsibilities, Accountabilities & Results * Review job ticket instructions to determine requirements of job production. * Execute graphic layout and set and or place text and modify to ensure brand continuity. * Using appropriate software applications (Illustrator, Photoshop CS suite and later) to perform the electronic assembly function of preparing files for digital production. * Proof output. * Quality control all work performed following the departments standardized procedures. Check, sign-off, and date checklists. * Update the schedulers & Customer Service regarding job(s) status. * When handing off jobs to co-workers, clearly communicate any information for them to complete the job. * Attend necessary online meetings when required or requested. * Assist in the development of written procedures as new clients and projects are added.

• Participate in process improvement efforts and various production meetings to foster a positive creative impact on the business. Competency Requirements * Minimum 6 months experience using Illustrator, Photoshop and general knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (type setting, file layering, image masking and minor manipulation) * Experience of applying print standards to image content preferred * Experience working in a color managed environment preferred * Understanding of file types used in print and in digital applications * Practical experience applying principles of color theory preferred * Creative experience in packaging environment preferred * Proficient with current Mac OS Educational & Experience Minimum Requirements This position requires the following knowledge and skills: * High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
