Fat Fender Garage, a high-end custom restoration and restomod classic truck shop founded in 2013 in Gilbert, Arizona; is seeking a fabricator with previous experience in the hotrod, custom, or motorsports industry that is proficient in tig welding steel and aluminum, rust repair, body panel replacement, fabrication of one-off custom parts including raising bed floors for lowered trucks. Must know your way around a fabrication shop using tools such as a magnetic brake, sheet roller, pullmax, box brake, bead roller, and shrinker stretchers. This qualified individual will have a deep understanding and passion as a Fabricator and willing to contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Must have minimum of 5+ years' experience as Sheet Metal Fabricator with extensive knowledge of sheet metal tools
Must provide pictures of previous work or social media link with pictures of work or have available at your interview.
Must have experience in hotrod shops
High school diploma or equivalent education required
Valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance
Required Skills:
Attention to detail
Efficient and reliable
Must know how to shape and form metal
Know how to use sheet metal shaping tools such as pullmax, English wheel, tubing bender, planishing hammer, hammer and dolly
Must know how to Tig weld sheet metal
Must be creative and have forward vision of the project
Proficient with welding with steel and aluminum
Ability to read and understand shop drawing and welding details

Essential duties and responsibilities:
Shrink and stretch metal
Will be repairing rust and install new panels
Raise bed floors in truck beds
Do extensive body modification's
Gap body panels Jig and weld headers
Lay out an exhaust system clean and symmetrical
Weld aluminum and build an intake pipe
Build fixtures/jigs for headers
Make custom X-pipes
Maintain good housekeeping practices
Perform other duties as assigned

Weekly pay
Schedule: Monday - Thursday (10 hour days) with optional overtime on Friday. The ability to log 50+ hours per week for a self-starter is easily doable.
