As a Sheet Metal Mechanic specializing in Commercial HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems, you will be responsible for plans, lays out, fabrication, assembly, installs, TI, and repairs of sheet metal parts, equipment, and products by performing the following duties and responsibilities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Required to help promote a safe working environment
- Required to work well independently and the ability to keep from one (1) to three (3) apprentices productive.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal products.
- Lays out and marks dimensions and reference lines on material to develop and trace patterns of product or parts or uses templates.
- Trims, files, grinds, deburrs, buffs, and smooths surfaces.
- Welds, solders, bolts, rivets, screws, clips, caulks, or bonds component parts to assemble products.
- Installs assemblies in supportive framework according to blueprints.
- Inspects assemblies and installation for conformance to specifications.
- Repairs and maintains sheet metal products.
- Required skillset in duct design, ability to read ductulator to help in calculating proper CFM requirements.
- Any other duties assigned to him by the supervisor.
Education and Certification:
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Minimum of 3-5+ years of field experience.
- Has completed an apprenticeship school (ABC) for further education and cross training.
- Must have the ability to study for and pass states requiring a license.
- Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
- Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervisory duties will be assigned by the Superintendent

Basic Job Requirements:
