Responsible for monitoring, processing and recording a company's outgoing deliveries including merchandise, stock, materials and supplies in a warehouse environment.
Shipping Clerk Job Duties:
Assigns orders to warehouse pickers
Monitor picker efficiencies
Monitors staging area to ensure all picked orders are complete
Notify purchasing department of any inventory shortages
Monitor will call orders
Direct delivery drivers to proper receiving bays
Monitor Workwave Routing program
Communicate with delivery drivers
Dispatch routes to drivers
Create load sheets for the packers/shippers
Ensures warehouse goals are met
Maintains a high level of health and safety standards
Operates scanners so that the proper order is picked, packed, shipped and inventory is managed accurately
Performs other general warehouse duties as needed
Shipping Clerk Skills and Qualifications:
Computer skills are a MUST; High School Diploma or GED Required; Ability to Read, Analyze, and Interpret Documents such as Safety Rules, Operating Instructions, Procedures and Common Technical Manuals, and Purchase Orders; Previous Experience Working in a Warehouse Preferred; Experience Working with an RF Scanner Preferred; Keen Attention to Detail; Ability to Lift Heavy Objects; Ability to Stay on Feet for Long Periods of Time; Positive Attitude; Self-Motivated; Active; Safety Conscious; Ability to Work on Multiple Tasks in a Fast Paced, Busy Environment; Great Communication Skills; Ability to Work Well on a Team but Be Self-Motivated and Independent at Times
