Job Description
Compute amounts, (i.e box count, weight, and shipping) using a calculator or price list to determine estimated shipping costs or quotes.
Examine contents and compare with records, (i.e Job Ticket, product folder, purchase order, packing slip) to verify the accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipment in accordance to client’s specifications and ship/arrival date.
Perform packaging duties related to product manufacture as specified on the Job Ticket and Shipping Form. This may include packaging, sealing, palletizing, labeling, and affixing necessary documents to prepare materials for shipping.
Process shipments via courier software or contact courier representatives to schedule pickups/deliveries and to issue instructions for shipping of materials.
Maintain good housekeeping.
Operate forklift to transport finished product to proper destinations.
Determine shipping method for materials as needed, using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
Record shipment data, such as charges, quantity shipped, discrepancies, space availability etc. for reporting, accounting, and recordkeeping purposes.
Receive packages, raw materials and returns, verify against the Purchase Order, Packing List or Bill of Lading, and notify the appropriate department for inspection/retrieval.
Work with the Production Supervisor and Production Lead to make sure jobs needed to ship are prioritized and on schedule.
Process and forward all shipping related paperwork to the correct department(s).
Trace and initiate claims for lost or delayed shipments.
Prepare and coordinate documents, maps, and all necessary items for Edwards’ Driver to make deliveries/pickups.
Overtime Authorization and Requirement - Unauthorized approval in advance of working overtime and repeated refusal to work overtime are violations of company policy.
Qualifications
High school diploma/equivalent
1 year of FedEx and UPS worldship shipping programs
Forklift experience preferred
