    Job Description

    Job Summary
    This role requires an individual to verify and maintain records on incoming and outgoing shipments. This individual will also be responsible for preparing items for shipment by assembling, addressing, stamping, then shipping merchandise or material. Other aspects of the role include receiving, unpacking, verifying and recording incoming merchandise or material; and arranging for the transportation of products.

    Shipping -

    • Package materials in boxes of varying sizes and ensure closure by tape or strapping. Insert items into containers - using spacers, fillers and protective padding. Affix shipping labels on packed cartons or markings identifying shipping information on all cartons
    • Input all shipment information into enterprise resource planning (ERP) computer system
    • Prepare pallets for storage or shipment using stretch wrapping process. Examine outgoing
    • shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
    • Assemble cardboard containers, or select preassembled containers
    • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies
    • Operate pallet stacker, pallet jack, hand-truck or cart to move shipments from shipping and
    • receiving platform to storage or work area
    • Perform other duties that may be assigned by management to meet business needs
    • Cross train in other areas of the department
    • Complete HazMat training
    • Process and prepare instrument orders

    Receiving/Material Handling -

    • Restock parts on the manufacturing floor via KANBAN in timely manner
    • Deliver and issue material requisitions
    • Maintain warehouse overstock organization through iterative consolidation and material
    • movements
    • Move items in/out of Receiving Inspection and put away items as they are passed through to their corresponding overstock or manufacturing floor location
    • Communicate material shortages as they arise to the Planning team
    • Receive delivered materials in SAP and label them so that they may be put away
    • Maintain organization in the Receiving staging area as deliveries are made throughout the day
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Education & Experience
    Required:
    High school diploma or equivalent

    Preferred:

    • 2 years or more work experience in a warehouse setting picking and packing

    Working Conditions

    • Nearly 100 % of your day will be on your feet. Safety Shoes are required.
    • You must be able to lift upwards of 55 lbs, anything above that requires a team lift.
    • You will have some interaction with a small amount of hazardous material, so you will be trained and certified.
    • Work environment is in a warehouse environment with a typical building regulated temperature.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    • Forklift/pallet jack certification
    • Experience in international or dangerous good shipping
    • Excellent computer skills, including Google Workspace
    • Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
    • Ability to prioritize workload and shift work activities to meet business needs and department goals
    • Ability to meet tight deadlines
    • Familiarity with SAP systems

The range is not an absolute, but a guide, and offers will be based on the individual candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, and market conditions, as well as internal peer equity.
