Position: Shipping and Warehouse Supervisor
Employment Type: Full-time (Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm)
Shipping Supervisor is Responsible For:
· Coordinate with shipping companies, carriers, and freight forwards to ensure efficient and cost-effective transportation of products;
· Ensuring compliance with company policies and government regulations;
· Scheduling shipments, overseeing loading and unloading of trucks, and verifying shipping documents;
· Oversee and manage the shipping and receiving process to ensure timely delivery of products;
· Maintain accurate inventory control and monitor quality and condition;
· Assist in quarterly physical inventory;
· Train and supervise shipping staff, enforcing safety protocols and productivity standards;
· Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise, such as delays or damage to products in transit;
· Recommend improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs;
· Generate reports and maintain records of shipping activities and performance metrics;
· Utilize lift to retrieve boxes from high shelving areas;
Pull warehouse products to fulfill orders;
Ensure order accuracy and record on pick lists and order copies;
Scan each product with inventory software during packing;
Finalize packing of boxes;
Generate shipping labels and record necessary data;
Organize finished packages for loading;
Wrap and band pallet shipments when required;
Maintain a clean and orderly warehouse.
Warehouse Functions:
Organize packaging and shipping warehouses;
Assist in the inventory staging warehouse with organization and packaging orders;
Qualifications:
Strong working knowledge of various computer applications, such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager, and Inventory systems.
1-3 Years experience in a transportation, warehouse or distribution environment;
Forklift license/certification;
Ability to read and interpret safety rules and job descriptions;
Strong communication and teamwork skills;
Proficiency in operating forklift, shelf picker, and scale is preferred;
Accurate calculation skills;
Ability to create and maintain a productive work environment;
Physical Requirements:
Manual work with plastic products.
Sitting and/or standing for a two-hour shift.
Lifting up to 50 pounds.
Reaching, crouching, stooping, and ascending/descending ladders, stairs, ramps.
Clear vision at 20 inches or less.
Walking or moving about to accomplish tasks.
Typical Environmental Conditions:
Inside environmental conditions with protection from weather but not necessarily from temperature changes.
Evaluations and Advancement:
Job evaluations after a 90-day introductory period and yearly evaluations on the anniversary of the employee's hire date.
Pay raises based on merit and employee performance.
