Pay Rate: $19.50/hr-$21.00/hr
Location: Indianapolis, IN 46226
Hours: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm (some OT may be required)
The Shipping and Receiving Specialist will be responsible for working on all shipping, receiving, and material-handling operations for the manufacturing plant. This role will support the Shipping & Receiving Lead maintain the accurate recording of inventory, support the development and execution of Shipping/Receiving procedures, provide leadership and training to shipping and receiving team members, and ensure materials are ready and available in each work cell as needed for production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe work environment with the goal of having zero work-related injuries. Know and follow all safety procedures.
- Ensure that operator-performed equipment maintenance is completed and issues are escalated to the Shipping & Receiving Lead.
- Conduct inspection of incoming, and outgoing, shipments to ensure damage is identified prior to receipt or distribution of product and reported to the Shipping & Receiving Lead.
- Coordinate all documents including packing slips, bills of lading, invoices, etc. are accurately recorded and retained. These are then provided to the Shipping & Receiving Lead.
- Facilitate the resolution of order shipping or receiving errors.
- Ensure material is distributed within the plant as needed for efficient production operations while working with production team.
- Leverage lean manufacturing principles to maximize material use efficiency and minimize waste.
- Support inventory counts/audits to ensure inventory is accurate.
- Complete tasks or instructions provided by the Shipping & Receiving Lead ensuring daily tasks and requirements for success are clear
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in shipping and receiving operations
- Experience working in a manufacturing facility/production environment is preferred.
- This is a physically demanding job requiring the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs, use power hand tools occasionally, to grip, work over head, pull at chest height, push objects weighing in excess of 100lbs, bend, stand, walk, kneel, crawl, push, pull, reach, climb and carry various materials and equipment.
