    Job Description

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Social Media Strategist is responsible for both the day-to-day execution and developing long-term strategy of CEO's personal digital presence on platforms including Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook, as well as additional emerging platforms. This position serves to support and promote the CEO's various projects and partnerships across social media while growing her brand and engaging her digital audience in a positive and authentic way.

    The role calls for a forward-thinking and intuitive individual who has their finger on the pulse of emerging popular culture and digital technologies that would serve to grow and meet the unique needs of our audience.

    This position is in Los Angeles and has a dual reporting relationship to the CEO and the VP, Communications and Marketing.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Create, manage, and publish high-quality, original content for CEO's personal social media.
    • Develop, implement, and manage social media strategies to maintain and grow CEO's online presence. Includes providing written content strategy and managing a monthly content calendar.
    • Work in collaboration with the various departments in the support and promotion of Shondaland's various projects and promotions on CEO's social channels.
    • Read scripts and/or watch draft content for upcoming creative projects to aid strategy.
    • Create social posts in support of CEO's personal initiatives.
    • Monitor SEO and user engagement and suggest content optimization.
    • Stay up to date on new digital technologies, social media best practices, and industry trends.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with the various social media platforms.
    • Monitor trending topics on social media that are relevant to brand. Recommend relevant cultural moments for engagement on social.
    • Set targets and timelines for social media programs and key initiatives.
    • Advise on overall social approach and behavior while also developing and executing innovative content and campaigns.
    • Work and attend offsite events as needed.

    ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Can quickly develop a keen understanding of CEO's brand, mission, values and voice.
    • Driven work ethic who takes initiative to always be looking ahead and presenting new creative ideas
    • Fast learner who is able to work autonomously.
    • Highly engaged in current events and popular culture, especially that which is relevant to CEO's brand and overall creative industry.
    • In-depth understanding of social media KPI's and reporting metrics.
    • Experiencing sizing, editing and captioning video assets as needed.
    • Creative and entrepreneurial, with the ability to work well under pressure and think quickly on their feet.
    • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and project management skills.
    • Understanding of branding and audience needs.

    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Proven experience as a Social Media Strategist or Social Media Manager required.
    • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field from an accredited college or university preferred.
    • Fluent in social media platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, Facebook.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
