Batavia family owned job shop is looking for a 1st shift Shop Apprentice. Previous experience in manufacturing and knowledge of metals a must.
M-F 6a-3:30p, Pay starts at $18 BOE
Assembly/General Labor/Shop Apprentice
Job Summary: Associates in a general labor position will be available to assist where needed, in multiple shop departments including but not limited to the following: assembly, finishing, powder coating and the laser departments. The goal is to hire general labor associates, expose them to multiple areas within the shop and build on the knowledge by teaching a skilled trade.
- Safe and efficient operation of equipment.
- Follow instructions.
- GL includes but is not limited to deburr, assembly, pem, finish, bead blast, loading/unloading parts.
- Perform all required quality checks to ensure parts meet customer requirements.
- Use the correct measuring equipment and tools to perform quality checks.
- Participation in continuous improvement processes.
- Cleaning /racking parts
Skills:
- Basic math and reading skills
- blueprint reading a plus
- ability to use hand tools
You will need the following:
- Must have a good attitude.
- Must have excellent attendance.
- A good mechanical aptitude.
- Must be willing to follow instructions and accept feedback.
- Ability to lift 50lbs.
- Be willing to purchase your own tools if hired permanently.
