    Job Summary Birds’ Shop Directors are responsible for creating a profitable and positive work environment for all. Our shop directors are to be helpful in creating an environment that is inspirational, professional, and drama free. They are the immediate point of contact for all staff members who are employed at their shop and are responsible for ensuring their shops are fully open and operational during all business days and hours. While a Director may choose to delegate some of their tasks to a Senior Manager, all Directors are expected to be fully comfortable performing all job duties outlined for Managers and Senior Managers. This is largely an active role requiring lifting, twisting, reaching, bending, and standing for extended periods. This position requires the ability to move and lift boxes and bend or stand as necessary.     Responsibilities

    Oversee and act as the point of contact for all daily operations of their shop at all times

    Lead by example in providing excellent customer service at all times

    Maintain all safety and sanitation to TLDR standards

    Provide proactive and positive leadership for your team, be present on the floor of the shop a minimum of 4 days per week.

    Act as a backup for the Front Desk in the event of an unexpected Manager absence

    Maintain positive relationships with Senior Managers and Senior Stylists, routinely meeting to discuss the needs and goals of the shop and staff, including addressing Redos

    Should a Senior Stylist or Manager position be vacant, train and develop an existing staff member to take on a promotion

    Consistently and objectively enforces all shop policies and practices to the entire staff, using corrective action forms and performance improvement plans when needed. Document these actions in Employee Files.

    Manage overall staff performance, offering scheduled check-ins and performance reviews for all staff in an objective manner

    Create Stylist schedules and post two weeks’ out, always considering sales history, shop goals, and maximization of clients seen per day

    Create Manager schedules and post for the following month by the 15th

    Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee information and records

    Confirm employee time cards are accurate and up to date every Sunday after close, communicate Director payroll information with Accounting team

    Maintain shop supply levels including supplies, retail products, and color inventory. Complete orders with our Retail partners on a monthly basis. Maintain accurate inventory by ensuring a monthly audit and reconciliation is completed.

    Respond to and handle all shop maintenance needs as is possible. Communicate directly with our Repair teams as needed for larger issues.

    Stay active and present on Workplace and over email communications and be as responsive as possible at all times

    Maintain an awareness of shop Retail sales, being mindful of set goals and communicate expectations to the staff as relates

    Set comprehensive team goals as well as individual targets for their staff. Manage operations in a way that allows your team to exceed expectations, ensuring high levels of performance, customer satisfaction, and client retention.

    Understand the financial elements of the business, including labor usage as relates to shop sales. At all times possible, ensure shop profitability.

    Bear responsibility for their own career development, communicating training needs to Shop Support teams regularly, as well as sharing desire for additional growth within the company

    Regularly communicate areas of need with Shop Support so that they may advise and assist to ensure the stability of the shop

    Provide training for other Shop Directors as requested by the Shop Support team

    Act as an interim Shop Director in the instance of a vacant position as asked by Shop Support team

    Qualifications

    1 year of work experience in a customer service focused environment (required)

    Birds Barbershop employee experience (preferred)
