The role occasionally involves driving a truck to transport materials to and from specified destinations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including warranty, safety, environmental, OSHA, DOT, and Hazmat regulations.
- Remove, disassemble, and inspect battery cells for defects.
- Replace defective parts, reassemble batteries, and fuse lead parts with a gas torch.
- Fill cells with acid solution, measure specific gravity, and adjust acid or water levels as needed.
- Attach charger leads, start chargers, and adjust charge parameters based on meter readings.
- Conduct discharge tests, evaluate results, and make necessary repairs.
- Wash, clean, and neutralize batteries in the service center.
- Repair battery charging equipment.
- Prepare new products for shipment.
- Handle, store, palletize, and load batteries and chargers, including customer repairs and scrap materials.
- Maintain performance records and reports.
- Operate material handling equipment per OSHA standards.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Load and unload trucks, secure cargo, and comply with DOT regulations during transit.
- Assist with Parts and Service tasks as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the manager.

Education and Experience:
- Basic mechanical abilities.
- Forklift Operator Training Certificate.
- Proficiency in PC usage.
- Valid driver’s license.
Physical Demands:
- Regular use of hands to grip tools and control equipment.
- Frequent bending, sitting, squatting, and crawling under equipment.
- Ability to climb ladders and carry up to 45 pounds.
- Push and pull up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Work in environments with fumes, odors, chemicals, or loud noises.
- Operate forklifts with required certifications.
Work Environment:
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, high places, and outdoor weather conditions.
- Occasionally work in wet, humid, cold, or hot conditions.
- Noise levels range from moderate to typical industrial workspace levels.
- Exposure to sunlight when working outside a covered shop environment.
