Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in engineering (preferred).
Minimum 5 years’ experience in operations.
5 - 10 years’ experience in a management role.
Experience in rotating equipment, bearing assemblies, hydraulic oil systems.
Strong communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, Projects, Outlook, Adobe.
Ability to work with 2D design software (preferred)
Responsibilities:
Production:
Manage all internal production efforts for plant
Responsible for hiring, training, and supporting all production personnel.
Maintain shop load schedule to identify critical paths, manpower and equipment constraints to meet project milestones and ship dates per project requirements.
Maintain a high level of absorption rate for production hours.
Manage productions labor hours to assign to necessary projects in coordination with accounting for project costs and payroll.
Oversee completion of production reports, documentation, and test reports for projects.
Provide all necessary documentation and information to support production (drawings, manuals, reports, processes, etc.). Coordinate with other departments if needed to achieve proper directive.
Work with Project Management and Engineering regarding project scope and production expectations for achieving costs and schedule.
Identify issues in production and coordinate with departments for resolutions while minimizing impact to schedule.
Identify tooling needs and coordinate with departments to design and procure as needed.
Oversee production testing and balancing efforts and support performance testing installation, set up and testing as required.
Maintain building, equipment and machine maintenance as needed.
Maintain production needs for shop tools, consumables, PPE, and supplies.
Continuous improvements on production processes to reduce hours and improve quality and efficiency through all aspects of the process.
Employee Health & Safety:
Employee Health and Safety management in coordinated efforts with shop personnel.
Implement and maintain safe work practices and scheduled safety meetings.
Quality Inspection:
Oversee responsibilities of Quality Inspection including process, equipment, calibration, and inspection priorities.
Ability to assist when needed to support Quality Inspection efforts including inspections with use of micrometers, profilometers, calipers, dial indicators, height gauges, etc. and documentation and reports.
Interpret complex machining, fabrication and assembly drawings in both SI and Imperial Units.
Inventory
Responsible for the organization of inventoried parts, documentation process and flow.
Oversee the efforts to maintain inventory, parts pulling and sorting per project.
Coordinate with Accounting on physical inventory counts and updating of Inventory Log.
Shipping Receiving
Coordinate efforts for transportation of parts to and from vendors for repairs.
Coordinate efforts for customer shipping needs to and from plant.
Oversee process of receiving and shipping items, generating documentation (bill of ladings, packing lists, required documentation). Work with other departments for shipping details as needed (weights and dimensions for larger loads).
Oversee Quality efforts of receiving and shipping conditions of components received and ensuring high quality of loading and securing of loads shipping from facility.
