    Job Description

    The Opportunity:

    Mattel’s Global Insights & Analytics Insights team is seeking a Shopper Analytics Analyst who will be an outstanding addition to our Insights team, delivering insightful analyses to drive data-based decision making.

    With support from your manager, you’ll play a critical supportive role with Walmart, to mine and field research Walmart’s proprietary tool, Luminate, as well as support other shopper insights related projects relating to shopper attitudes, behaviors, and retail purchasing trends. With management support, this position will deliver insights to support Sales, Omni-Retail Marketing, Retail Space Planning, the North American marketing division, and other departments, as needed.

    What Your Impact Will Be:

    The Shopper Analytics Analyst is responsible but not limited to the following:

    • With management support, the coordination and execution of qualitative and quantitative research projects to drive business performance
    • Create and field primary shopper research projects in house using Walmart’s proprietary tool, Luminate
    • Analyze and synthesize research data that is gathered (qualitative and quantitative) from both primary research projects, Walmart Luminate and from secondary sources to showcase the voice of the shopper
    • Report and present insightful findings with actionable recommendations to key partners, and assist with the development of presentation materials
    • Collaborate and partner with internal functions to infuse shopper insights that facilitate opportunities that maximize business performance
    • Travel domestically (up to 30%) to conduct and present research (Post COVID 19)

    What We’re Looking For:

    • Demonstrated a growth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves.
    • Experience:
      • 2+ years of experience in either qualitative or quantitative methodologies is required
      • 1+ years with SPSS a plus
      • 1+ years with in-house survey platform or community activity platform (such as Qualtrics or Focusvision) a plus
    • Project Management & Communication:
      • Must be able to effectively manage time, adapt to shifting priorities and juggle multiple projects and be flexible
      • Must be detailed-oriented with strong project management skills and highly organized
      • Must be able to learn quickly, capable of working effectively independently or as part of a team
      • Must display good interpersonal skills, including a positive, high-energy “Can Do” attitude - both inside and outside the department
      • Must have the ability to manage relationships and administrative processes with multiple research suppliers effectively
      • Must possess strong communication, verbal and written skills
    • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:
      • Must enjoy working with data and have strong analytical skills (can synthesize large amounts of data into easily digestible formats and recognize patterns/trends and provide meaningful insights and conclusions)
      • A high degree of curiosity, and problem-solving capabilities.
      • Create compelling and sticky presentations that highlight data-driven insights and recommendations

    The base hourly rate for this position is between $68,000 and $85,000.**
    **This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however base hourly rate will be determined based on a candidate’s work location, skills and experience.
