The Role:
The Showroom Director is a leader accountable for driving the consistent delivery of the sales, client and employee engagement to achieve goals as well as being an ambassador of the brand. The Director leads the team that is responsible for identifying and optimizing sales across their geographic region. This role is essential for achieving both individual and territory-wide sales goals, fostering client relationships, and expanding our market presence.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Leadership
• Train, coach and mentor the showroom and outside sales team to enhance their knowledge and expertise
• Achieve sales targets by ensuring the sales team has the appropriate level of product and service knowledge
• Demonstrate effective leadership to inspire a high performing team with a flexible style as appropriate
• Deliver a world class service culture through the team by ensuring that the customer is always the priority
• Expertly carry out all local, national or global initiatives designed to drive sales, ensuring that they are consistent with our brand
• Responsible for resolving or escalating customer service issues
• Accountable for monitoring own area of responsibility against financial objectives and taking corrective action where necessary
Sales and Territory Management:
• Sales Performance: Achieve individual and overall territory sales targets by actively engaging with customers in and out of the showroom, managing client accounts, and developing new business opportunities.
• Territory Strategy: Develop and implement strategic sales plans to maximize revenue growth and market share within the assigned territory.
• Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential A&D clients, understanding their needs and presenting tailored textile flooring solutions.
• Showroom Operations: Oversee daily showroom operations, ensuring a high standard of customer service and maintaining an appealing and well-organized product display.
Business Development:
• Market Research: Identify market trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities within the territory to inform sales strategies.
• Lead Generation: Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities, including outreach to potential clients, attending industry events, and leveraging professional networks.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing team to develop and execute promotional campaigns, events, and other initiatives to drive showroom traffic and sales.
• Partnerships: Establish and nurture relationships with designers, architects, and other industry professionals to enhance brand visibility and expand the client base.
• Participate in sales and product meetings for clients with associates
Reporting and Analysis:
• Sales Reporting: Monitor and report on sales performance, providing regular updates to senior management on individual and territory achievements.
• Forecasting: Develop and manage sales forecasts, adjusting strategies as needed to meet or exceed targets.
• Data-Driven Decisions: Utilize sales data and customer feedback to refine sales approaches and improve overall effectiveness.
• Provide feedback about our products and service to the business, whether derived from customers or personal observation
Operations
• Accountable for delivering the day to day and long-term running of own area of responsibility through the team
• Deliver exceptional back of house standards
• Confirm health, safety and security policies are in place and that the showroom is a safe place
• Ensure that all merchandising and display is in accordance with specific visual merchandising guidelines and our brand
• Ensure all promotional campaigns are launched in an accurate and timely manner
• Able to flip rugs up to 75 pounds in weight
Qualifications:
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of sales experience, in the home décor, flooring, or luxury goods industry, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Skills: Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Knowledge: Understanding of the A&D and rug industry, including product knowledge and market dynamics, is highly desirable.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
• Periods of time sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Periods of time sitting in a car and driving.
• Must be able to lift up to 75lbs. at times.
• Ability to drive and hold a valid driver’s license required.
