SUMMARY:
The Field Mechanic will provide maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of various types of mobile heavy equipment in locations in any of the following areas: crushing, excavation, grading, sewer & water utility lines, culverts and storm drain and heavy civil project throughout Montana.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work under supervision of Project Superintendent
- Trouble shoot and Identify equipment malfunctions or maintenance repairs.
- Provide professional/technical advice to operators concerning issues with equipment operations.
- Provide professional/technical advice to the Maintenance Manager and Project Superintendent.
- Respond to and address nonfunctional equipment working after hours as necessary.
- Complete regular inspections
- Tune and configure equipment for optimal utilization and efficiency
- Correctly complete maintenance logs and reports.
- Complete responsibilities in a congenial and collaborative manner with co-workers
- Maintain and promote a clean and safe work environment and culture.
- Travel to outlying areas may be required and positions may occasionally be required to stay overnight.
- Complete and submit all paperwork in a timely manner.
Job Competencies:
- Class A Commercial driver’s license with Tanker and Hazardous Material endorsement preferred. Training provided by employer for non-CDL holders.

- Valid Driver’s License required.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Maintain a clean driving record.

Must be willing to travel in Montana and Work Out of Town.
