Responsibilities
- Designs, prototypes, develops, and implements content on electronic media, including Web Pages, using various Web programming languages, graphic software applications, techniques and tools; publishes content
- Collaborates with clients (business units) to develop materials that meet their needs/preferences in compliance with regulations, copyright/trademark laws and policies, and Navy Federal's corporate technical guidelines and culture
- Designs and develops user interface features, site animation, and special effects elements
- Translates complex concepts and content into easy-to-consume graphics that help facilitate understanding
- Creates textual web content and/or proofs existing content for publishing
- Serves as resource to Web staff and clients in developing user-friendly formats and producing documents in HTML and other applications
- Creates Web graphics, logos and illustrations to help translate complex concepts and content
- Implements Web-based /interactive media strategies
- Maintains knowledge of graphic design trends and best practices through professional associations, conferences, and seminars
- Administers and updates corporate digital media systems
- Monitors Web Pages and other electronic media, to identify and correct technical and grammatical problems
- Monitors ongoing digital media communication projects to assure timeliness of delivery; provides project status updates to clients and supervisor
- Recommends changes to Website to improve system functionality and enhance its effectiveness; updates content of electronic media
- Evaluates information on the use of Web/Internet applications/technologies and marketing trends; determines feasibility of applications/technologies and makes recommendations
- Participates in strategic/conceptual development meetings with clients and supervisor to determine project requirements and objectives
- Participates in analysis and development of new and innovative ways to improve member service using Website and other forms of electronic media to enhance marketing communications
- Maintains log of assignments and provides statistical data to supervisor
- May be assigned to small projects or to phase(s) of larger project(s); Assists with system-wide complex projects
- Integrates and implements new technology
- Troubleshoots day-to-day- problems and recommends solutions
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Strong graphic design skills – able to take complex information and design graphics that make it easier to consume and understand.
- Web design skills – good understanding of how to design the layout of websites so that they are easy to navigate and intuitive
- Excellent writing skills – able to take raw content and transform it so that it is consumable via the web
- Working knowledge of Web design techniques and practices
- Familiarity of PC and Internet/Web-based technologies such as HTML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery and PHP.HTML, Lotus Notes, Web content management software, editing and authoring tools and development languages
- Familiarity with MAC and PC Web design applications and basic skill in manipulating computer files on both
- Familiarity with marketing communication principles and skill in designing Web Pages
- Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including the ability to relate technical concepts to non-technical personnel, and to present findings and conclusions clearly and concisely
- Research, analysis, and problem solving skills
- Experience in business operations and customer service relations, preferably in a financial institution

Desired Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- College degree or coursework in computer science/information systems, visual communications, interactive media involving design or development of computer programs/applications
- Experience with Sharepoint and AEM is a plus
