    Sidney Regional Medical Center is hiring for a part-time Activities Aide for our Long Term Care department. Join our growing team at Long Term Care!

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Utilizes individual care plans of residents for the performance of patient care.
      • Directs, and promotes recreation activities, including but not limited to music, dance, arts and crafts, spiritual arts, cultural arts, nature study, swimming, social recreation, and games for Long Term Care Residents, Swing Bed and Secured Care Unit
      • Helps to decorate the facility for whatever holiday may be at hand.
      • Provides activities to meet residents needs be that in large groups, small groups or one on one time.
      • Lifts, moves and transports residents, using proper body mechanics or lifting devices.
      • Answers call lights promptly and courteously.
      • Walks extensively to and from various locations of the unit while making rounds and transports residents within the facility.
      • Demonstrates personal accountability in the delivery of Resident care in a competent, professional and compassionate manner.
      • Assists in escorting residents for appointments or attending activities or church services.
      • May need to fill in and cover shifts when the need arises to ensure quality of care.
    • Performs and maintains documentation.
      • Observes residents and reports changes in condition or behavior to appropriate licensed nursing personnel.
    • Communicates effectively.
      • May assist in developing a monthly activities calendar and a monthly newsletter and distributes to residents, families, and friends.
      • Communicates and collaborates effectively with other health team members regarding resident's condition, nursing plan of care, resident satisfaction needs and recommendations for meeting identified outcomes.
      • Follows approved shift report format when communicating resident information.
      • Identifies and recognizes abnormal symptoms/changes in resident's condition, established priorities, and takes appropriate action. Appropriately reports condition changes to charge RN or appropriate licensed nurse.
      • Communicates and interacts effectively with residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.
      • Will report any suspected or known illegal activities.
    • Promotes and ensures patient safety in performance of all responsibilities.
    • Promotes a homelike environment for all residents.
    • Follows HIPAA regulations and ensures that the confidentiality of resident's medical personal, financial records, employee records, and organizational records is maintained.
    • Complies with the state and federal regulatory requirements and requirements of the company Compliance program.
    • Presents self in a professional manner and enhances professional growth and development through participation in education programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops.
    • Other duties as assigned by management.
    • Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
    • Experience: Prefer 1-2 years geriatric experience and activity experience
    • Required licensure/certification: Certified by a State of Nebraska approved Activities Director course. A current and valid license as Nurse Aide in the State of Nebraska is mandatory. Would encourage to obtain
    • Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training.

    Education & Experience:

    • Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

    • Experience: Prefer 1-2 years geriatric experience and activity experience.

    • Required licensure/certification: Would encourage selected candidate to obtain: Certified by a State of Nebraska approved Activities Director course. A current and valid license as Nurse Aide in the State of Nebraska.

    • Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training.
