    This job can teach: welding, metal work, CNC operation, commercial painting, electronics (low voltage), lighting, electrical (110V), light construction, installation and the use of power tools.

    Job Summary

    Carolina Signs and Wonders is looking to add to our existing team. We are focused in commercial signage. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, positive, task and quality focused, and organized to be a strong part of our team.

    A Sign Fabricator is a professional, self-motivated team player with great interpersonal skills and values delivering excellence. The Sign Fabricator is also detail-oriented, works well in a fast-paced team environment as well as individually, and can efficiently manage working on multiple projects simultaneously. This job will work closely with our fabricators, and fabrication manager to ensure our shop is working well. Our ideal candidate would be able to learn and work independently but also have a learning and teaching mindset.

    Job Details

    Efficiently fabricate custom electric signs

    Meet with managers and supervisors to review project details

    Create and follow drawings, files, build sheet, materials lists to facilitate fabrication

    Cut varying materials on a CNC - acrylic, polycarbonate, aluminum, HDU, and PVC

    Fabricate the sign structure using specified materials (steel, aluminum, acrylic) to spec, using various tools including but not limited to, MIG/TIG welders, drills, grinders, etc.

    Prepare sign for paint using fillers, sanders and cleaners

    Paint sign parts using a AkzoNobel paint system, paint gun, paint booth

    Wire the sign according to state and UL requirements, typically LEDs

    Wire and troubleshoot lit signage and digital boards

    Responsibilities

    Must be able to follow specific directions, work well under pressure and perform a variety of duties which may often change.

    Must possess a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills and can work individually with little or no supervision or as a team player.

    Must have knowledge of hand and power tools and ability to custom fabricate. Welding and painting skills a plus.

    Drug, motor vehicle and criminal background check are required, we are looking to hire immediately after completion and passing.

    Full-time availability (40 hours/week) with occasional limited overtime.

    Maintain cleanliness and organization of manufacturing/production area.

    Assist in maintaining company equipment.

    Learn new technologies, skills, and techniques to become a better sign making professional and willingness to share knowledge.

    Qualifications

    High school or equivalent. Higher education or trade school preferred.

    Must have a clean valid U.S. issued driver’s license. (Class B CDL license or higher is a plus.)

    Able to lift at least 60lbs
