Job Description
** Simulation Engineer – Discrete Event Systems & Process Optimization**
We are seeking a results-driven Simulation Engineer with a strong background in discrete event simulation (DES) and process engineering to join a cutting-edge industrial automation team. This role focuses on enhancing system throughput , identifying performance constraints, and optimizing production workflows in automated manufacturing environments using Siemens Plant Simulation software.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement discrete event simulation models to analyze and optimize manufacturing processes, material flow, and production system layouts.
Focus on improving system throughput , cycle times , and operational efficiency in high-volume automated manufacturing environments.
Use Siemens Plant Simulation to build accurate, scalable models of assembly lines , material handling systems , and production workflows.
Identify and resolve bottlenecks through simulation-driven root cause analysis and data-driven performance optimization.
Perform downtime analysis , capacity planning , and resource utilization studies across automated systems and production cells.
Work closely with process engineers , industrial engineers , and operations teams to gather system data, validate model assumptions, and drive actionable improvements.
Translate simulation outcomes into clear technical reports , visual dashboards , and strategic insights for engineering and leadership teams.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering , Mechanical Engineering , Manufacturing Engineering , or a related technical field.
Proven experience with Siemens Plant Simulation or similar discrete event simulation tools (e.g., Tecnomatix Plant Simulation ).
Strong understanding of manufacturing systems , material flow , process optimization , and lean manufacturing principles.
Solid foundation in data analysis , mathematical modeling , and system-level thinking.
Proficiency in tools such as Excel , Python , or MATLAB for data manipulation and analysis.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex simulation findings to cross-functional teams.
Preferred Experience:
Background in highly automated manufacturing or smart factory environments.
Exposure to digital twin technology and integration of simulation with real-time data.
Experience supporting continuous improvement and production planning initiatives through simulation insights.
