    POSITION: Site Coordinator for After-School Tutoring Program (Grades K-5th)

    About EPATT: The East Palo Alto Tennis and Tutoring program (EPATT) is an established non-profit organization that has made a positive impact on the lives of hundreds of students from East Palo Alto since 1988. Using a unique mix of one-on-one academic tutoring, tennis instruction, mentorship, and parent engagement, EPATT equips students to thrive in college and career pathways.

    Applicants interested in a non-profit career within schools or outside of schools will have the opportunity to work closely with skilled teachers and non-profit educators and gain experience collaborating with parents and students in a challenging, rewarding, and active work environment.

    SCHEDULE:

    Start Date: January 2025

    Hours: Approximately 10-12 hours/week (more hours available)

    Mondays: 2-5pm

    Wednesdays: 12-4pm

    Fridays: 2-5pm

    Few evenings and weekends for special events or meetings.

    MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Supervise and manage student online tutoring sessions (Grades K-5th)

    Ensure students are engaged in tutoring sessions

    Communicate with tutoring team about student attendance, progress, and engagement

    Assist with parent meetings, workshops, and information sessions

    Collaborate with staff, parents, and program coordinator to coordinate implementation of curriculum and assessment

    Ensure safe student transitions between activities

    Communicate with program staff and parents regarding attendance and schedules

    Assist with data collection

    Assist with the organization of special events

    Maintain clean and organized classroom space

    Distribute snacks and materials to students

    REQUIRED SKILLS:

    Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred (or in progress)

    A minimum of 1-2 years work experience in a youth development organization or school

    Ability to deal effectively with youth including discipline challenges

    Experience leading a group or managing people

    Demonstrated ability working with young people, parents and/or community leaders.

    Must pass background check and provide TB test clearance.

    Experience working with and/or in minority communities

    Desired Qualifications

    Spanish fluency is a HUGE plus.
